Just in time for cooler weather, Camila Cabello releases her hot new video for “Havana” featuring Young Thug. The song recently broke 200 million streams on Spotify and made it to #5 on the iTunes Overall Top Songs chart. While the song has been a breakaway hit for the former Fifth Harmony singer, the video adds a new hilarious element to the otherwise sultry tune.
In the video, Cabello is the star of a dramatic telenovela before finding her character in tears on the couch engulfed in the program. From there, her abuelita (played by LeJuan James) encourages her to go and live her life while her sister (played by Lele Pons) makes fun of her soap opera obsession. She does go out to live vicariously through a film at a nearby theater watching an old black and white movie “Camila in Havana.” Then, you’re transported into the world of the film. It is here that Cabello saunters through a club in Havana complete with drinking, dancing, and music. The song is entrancing and seductive with a stirring Latin beat that compels movement and this is the perfect atmosphere for it.
“Havana” is Cabello’s third single released from her upcoming solo debut album. The song has already achieved platinum success in several countries, including Sweden, Ireland, Australia, and Canada. Cabello left Fifth Harmony in 2016 but has had significant success as a solo artist with only two singles under her belt and several guest appearances with other artists. Last year, her single with rapper Machine Gun Kelly, “Bad Things,” peaked at no. 4 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
