Catfish and the Bottlemen has shared the second pre-release single to appear on their forthcoming studio album, The Balance. The catchy new tune from the Welsh rock outfit follows the previously-released “Longshot,” and came accompanied by an equally impressive music video to go with its arrival on Tuesday afternoon.
According to a press release regarding the new song, singer Van McCann visits themes including “lies, loyalty, and love” in the new song, which can be heard in full above. The music video is amazingly shot as the four-piece teamed up once again with director Jim Canty, who chose to stick with a theme very similar to the band’s last music video in terms of his wide-lens cinematography approach.
Just like the music video for “Longshot,” “2all” opens up by giving viewers a wonderful aerial view of a vintage 1956 Land Rover driving along the beaches and cliff tops of South Shields in the band’s native U.K. while the new song plays throughout. The band eventually ditches the rugged automobile to perform the song at South Shields’ well-known Amphitheatre arcades. The band will get the chance to perform the new song during their live appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! Outdoor Stage on Wednesday evening as part of the late-night talk show’s televised concert series.
The band will also have plenty of time to introduce their latest track to their fans as they continue their North American spring tour leading up to the release of The Balance on April 26 via Island Records. Catfish and the Bottlemen’s next scheduled stop along their ongoing tour is a show at the Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles on Friday, March 22. The popular rock band also recently announced their return to New York City this summer as part of the inaugural Summer Open at Forest Hills Stadium alongside The Lumineers, Sharon Van Etten and The Revivalists on June 22.
