Watch: Code Orange perform at NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn III

While the WWE is no stranger to live performances, its developmental division (and critical darling) NXT has been getting their toes wet in the music side of things. The brand has held live shows at England's Download Festival and California's Aftershock Festival, and since 2015, acts such as Sleeping With Sirens, Bring Me The Horizon, and Starset have lent their songs for their PPVs. Metalcore outfit Code Orange were next on the list with their single "Bleeding In The Blur" being used for the recent NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn III, which was held on Saturday. That night, the band made history with the brand.

Hours before showtime, it was revealed that Code Orange would be the first musical act to ever perform at a NXT PPV. When it was showtime, the band played their latest single in front of a sold out crowd at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn. NXT superstar Aleister Black, who had a match against Hideo Itami that night, is a big fan of the Pittsburgh outfit; back in June, he introduced the band before their performance at Download Festival. In order to make his entrance special, Code Orange teamed up with Incendiary vocalist Brendan Garrone, who sang and wrote Black's entrance theme "Root Of All Evil", to give him a headbanging arrival to the ring.

Code Orange will be busy on the road with a mini tour in Sept. with Eternal Sleep and Jesus Piece, an Oct. tour alongside Gojira and Torche, and a pair of dates with The Dillinger Escape Plan in Dec. You can check out their upcoming tour routing below.
