Ever since Fifth Harmony went on a sabbatical to focus on solo projects earlier this year, each member has had a varying degree of individual success.
Dinah Jane, the youngest of the group, was one of the members who many thought could have success as a solo artist. In September, Jane released her debut single, “Bottled Up,” a midtempo R&B affair tinged with touches of reggae and tropical influences.
Though the single has yet to show up on the charts -- it will eventually, as Billboard can’t ignore the single much longer -- Jane has been busy promoting her solo debut, which included a live performance at “The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon.”
Jane transformed the legendary “Tonight Show” set into a dark speakeasy, with Jane posting up at the bar until jumping into the song with her backup dancers. Guest at the show was treated to a full performance of “Bottle Up,” with Marc E. Bassy (who played the bartender) and Ty Dolla $ign joining her to pull out all the stops for her solo “Tonight Show” debut.
Jane looked like a natural for her first solo performance, and the R&B world simply can’t wait for her to drop her solo debut.
