After telling GQ Magazine that a run for the presidency was a “real possibility,” Dwayne Johnson’s political career appears to be picking up steam. The “Baywatch” star stopped by “The Tonight Show” on Thursday where he continued to entertain the notion of a presidential bid in 2020. Although he told Jimmy Fallon “three-and-a-half years is a long ways away," he continued on to say, “Yeah, of course I would consider it.” He also brought up a national poll which found that if the election were held today he would beat Donald Trump, a poll that was confirmed by Rolling Stone.

According to RS, Public Policy Polling stated that Johnson would beat Trump 42/37 in a theoretical election. But perhaps the most interesting numbers in the poll projected that Johnson would win 15% of voters who supported Trump last November. Although Joe Biden and Bernie Sanders faired better against Trump in the poll, a Johnson presidential run is still an intriguing prospect.

Johnson even sounded like a politician while speaking with Fallon, “I think it’s because a lot of people want to see a different leadership today – I'm sorry, not different, but a better leadership today,” Johnson said. “I think more poise, less noise,” he continued. As RS pointed out, that last part sounds like a great campaign slogan. You can check out the whole interview above.
