Paul McCartney has always been a proud and outspoken libertarian. From his years spent as a beacon of positivity and hope during his time in the Beatles throughout the turbulent 60s to his vegetarian lifestyle, you wont find many hippies more popular than Paul McCartney. The former Beatle dipped his toe into the American political race, when he recently posted an image on his Instagram standing side by side with the American Democratic nominee, Hillary Clinton, along with the caption “She’s with me.” It also shouldn’t be surprising that both Hillary and Bill were both spotted channeling their own inner 60s hippie while getting their grove on to Sir Paul while he performed one of his most iconic songs, “Hey Jude” at a political fundraiser the other night.
McCartney, who was also joined at the fundraiser by Jimmy Buffett and Jon Bon Jovi, spent the evening performing some of his biggest hits, including “Jet,” “Can’t Buy Me Love,” and “Lady Madonna.” Bon Jovi and Buffett also performed some of their own memorable hits at the event, which reportedly rose up to $3.7 million for the liberal nominee.
The only downside to this is that Clinton didn’t get up on stage to sing with Paul, but let’s be honest, would most women who were teenagers in the 60s have courage to do so either? We didn’t think so.
In the video, posted onto Instagram by Bravo personality Andy Cohen, Hillary and her semi-famous husband Bill can be seen dancing to McCartney, Bon Jovi, and Buffett as they chant through the popular anthem ending of “Hey Jude.”
Party on Hillary, party on.
