Watch Jimi Hendrix shred in video from new album 'Both Sides of the Sky'

To celebrate the release of Jimi Hendrix’s posthumous album Both Sides of the Sky, Experience Hendrix has shared a video to go along with the previously unreleased Both Sides of the Sky track “Lover Boy.” The visual, directed by John Vondracek, includes archival footage of Hendrix and his Band of Gypsys playing the song live as well as photographs and home movies from Hendrix’s own collection.

"Lover Man”--which was recorded by Hendrix, bassist Billy Cox and drummer Buddy Miles in December of 1969--also features a clever “superhero” tease from Jimi. See if you can catch it in the video above.

As Rolling Stone reported, Band of Gypsys bassist Billy Cox and legendary guitarist Buddy Guy--along with a backing band of Experience Hendrix veterans--will perform on Jimmy Kimmel Live Tuesday, March 13.

A friend and huge influence on Jimi, Buddy Guy will also perform with fellow guitar slinger Jonny Lang at the Verizon Theatre at Grand Prairie in the Dallas-Fort Worth area on Sunday, May 13. You can find tickets on AXS by clicking here.
