Kacey Musgraves brought the very essence of country and western music to "The Late Late Show with James Corden" last night (April 6). Performing the opening track "High Time" from 2015's acclaimed Pageant Material album, the singer dazzled and twinkled in typical fashion. Everything from the staging to the lighting to the musical arrangement harkened to a better time in country music. It as as if Loretta Lynn and Willie Nelson had stepped out onto that stage.
Musgraves' sophomore album is anchored by the cheeky "Biscuits" lead single and the plucky "Dime Store Cowgirl" tune. Pageant Material follows her 2013 Grammy-winning debut studio album Same Trailer Different Park, which contains her Top 10 single "Merry Go Round," the empowering "Follow Your Arrow" and the blue-collar cheering "Blowin' Smoke."
