Kelly Clarkson is known for rocking some epic covers at her live shows and she didn’t disappoint at her Feb. 15 concert in Ashwaubenon, Wisconsin. The Grammy-winning singer-songwriter crushed a rendition of Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper’s award-winning duet “Shallow” from “A Star Is Born.”

Before launching into the song, Clarkson praised Gaga, telling the crowd “I’ve been rooting for her for a while and this song, I love it. It’s from the movie she’s nominated for a billion awards for … I thought she and Bradley Cooper did such an awesome job with this song. It’s called ‘Shallow.’”

To say Kelly Clarkson can sing anything seems like an understatement. She effortlessly belts the song’s climactic chorus to a round of enthusiastic applause from her live audience as she pauses. Her epic performance kind of prompts wondering what Clarkson and Gaga would sound like if they ever teamed up together. One can only wish …

Lady Gaga and her co-writing team of Mark Ronson, Anthony Rossomondo and Andrew Wyatt have literally swept award season with “Shallow” thus far winning Best Original Song awards at the 2019 Golden Globes and Critics Choice Awards, along with two Grammy Award wins for Best Song Written for Visual Media and a Best Pop Duo/Group Performance award for Gaga and Cooper.

“Shallow” is notably nominated for an Oscar for Best Original Song at the upcoming 91st Annual Academy Awards 2019. Based on its track record thus far, “Shallow” is heavily favored to take home the Oscar on Feb. 24. AXS is one of several outlets predicting the song will win. Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper will also perform "Shallow" together at the live Oscars ceremony.
