Two of pop music’s royalty joined forces to end another exciting season of NBC’s “The Voice.”
Jennifer Hudson and Kelly Clarkson collaborated to give the audience some much-needed holiday cheer heading into the New Year. Performing the Christmas classic “O Holy Night,” Clarkson and Hudson turned a competitive final into a festive atmosphere that washed the joy of the season over everyone who witnessed it.
With a candlelit stage surrounding them, the atmosphere was perfect for the epic performance that was to come. Not only was the singing on point, but Clarkson and Hudson’s styles were just as stunning, with the former wearing a glittering black ball gown, and the latter going for the feathery white dress.
Bringing home the festive, beautiful feel of “O Holy Night,” the piano and choir made this rendition of the holiday staple something that no one would ever forget and may have had some folks shedding some tears. Clarkson and Hudson stayed true to the song while putting their own spin on it, and the two created a beautiful harmonic moment in the show’s history.
After they brought the house down with “O Holy Night,” Clarkson was the one who ended the season on top, as her team member, 16-year-old Chevel Shepherd, was anointed champion of the season.
