Long before their namesakes teamed up in the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Leonardo Da Vinci and Michelangelo were bitter rivals.
“They couldn’t stand to be in the same room with each other,” says Mark Rodgers, curator of the Da Vinci Machines exhibit and host of the upcoming multimedia presentation “Da Vinci & Michelangelo: The Titans Experience”, which will take place on Friday, Aug. 11 at the Pikes Peak Center in Colorado Springs, CO (click here for tickets). Rodgers is one of the foremost experts on the two Renaissance men and his hugely entertaining presentation not only provides captivating insight into their oft-misunderstood lives, but connects their legacies to their intellectual and artistic progeny in the modern world.
“The main thrust of our performance is that we have to take these two geniuses and apply them to us today,” Rodgers told AXS.com in a recent interview ahead of his Colorado Springs event. “The theme of our exhibit is, there’s truly more Steve Jobs’ out there, there’s truly more Elon Musk’s out there. And there’s still another Da Vinci out there.”
Along with his expertise, Rodgers’ infectious passion makes “Da Vinci & Michelangelo: The Titans Experience” a must-see when it comes to the Springs on Aug. 11.
