Megadeth guitarist Dave Mustaine is currently crisscrossing the country with Billy Cox and the Experience Hendrix Tour. As Loudwire reported, a couple of videos have surfaced of the shredder channeling the guitar god on a pair of Jimi Hendrix classics. At a show in Milwaukee, Mustaine--with a floral flying V slung on--delivers a spot on rendition of the psychedelic 60s anthem “Purple Haze.” Check it out above.

Another video from Pompano Beach, Florida features Mustaine on the Jimi Hendrix Experience number “Stone Free” with Billy Cox--the only surviving member from Hendrix’s bands--on lead vocals. Mustaine takes a little artistic liberty on “Stone Free.” Watch it below. Along with Mustaine and Cox, Experience Hendrix also features Joe Satriani, Dweezil Zappa, Jonny Lang, Eric Johnson and the legendary Taj Mahal.

Dave Mustaine and Megadeth will hit the road with another rock legend this summer. The metal pioneers will support the Prince of Darkness himself, Ozzy Osbourne, on his 2019 No More Tours 2 run. Click here to browse AXS for tickets to select Ozzy Osbourne and Megadeth tour dates.

Megadeth is touring around their recently released greatest hits compilation, Warheads on Foreheads. The three-disc, career-spanning collection features 35 remastered tracks to celebrate the band’s 35th anniversary. Mustaine handpicked each track himself. Read more about Warheads on Foreheads here.
