Dubbed a country rebel, outlaw and bad girl, Nikki Lane has now christened herself (and her new album) with a more appropriate moniker: Highway Queen. Racking up 60,000 miles a year on tour, Lane has reached the country western trifecta: road warrior, performance ace and top-notch tunesmith, elements she showcases adroitly on her third album, due out Feb. 17 via New West.
Co-produced by Lane with Jonathan Tyler, Highway Queen showcases a woman lost and found, who's rewriting the rules of royalty with a little more grit, but just as much glamour. From the hometown homage “700,000 Rednecks” to the slow-burning “Forever Lasts Forever” to the twinkling love letter "Jackpot," Lane strikes with effortless charm and excellent aim.
Lane will bring Highway Queen to fans on the second installment of the Stagecoach Spotlight Tour, kicking off Feb. 22 at the Saturn in Birmingham, Ala. Check out dates and tickets here and watch our exclusive interview below.
