Paul McCartney goes tropical in a new music video for the song “Back in Brazil.” The track is the latest offering from the legendary British rocker's chart-topping studio album Egypt Station, which dropped Sept. 7 via Capitol Records.
The two-time Rock and Roll Hall of Famer unveiled the clip on Sept. 17 via YouTube on the heels of scoring his first No.1 album in 36 years with Egypt Station arriving at the top of the Billboard 200 in its debut week. “Back in Brazil” is the fourth track from the album to receive video treatment, following the previously released singles “Come on to Me,” “I Don't Know” and “Fuh You.”
The video tells the story of a woman from Brazil named Yasmin, which is loosely adapted from McCartney's lyrics. The camera follows the character on exotic beaches and on the scenic streets of Sao Paulo, Brazil, until she meets a man named Zach and makes a date with him to see a McCartney concert.
The man ends up breaking their date and Yasmin wind ups alone at the concert, holding up a sign asking to dance with the pop-rock icon. The story culminates with Macca inviting Yasmin to join him on stage where she gets to triumphantly dance and hug her hero.
Egypt Station is available in standard and deluxe editions here in CD, digital, vinyl and streaming formats. Check out the music video for “Back in Brazil” above.
