Paul McCartney has dropped a brand new single and lyric video for the song “Fuh You.” The track is the latest offering from the two-time Rock and Roll Hall of Famer's upcoming studio album Egypt Station, which will hit shelves Sept. 7 via Capitol Records.
The legendary British rocker unveiled the mid-tempo pop-rocker on Aug. 18 via his official Paul McCartney website. The song is the third single from 18-time Grammy winner's highly anticipated 17th solo album, following the release of the double-sided lead singles “Come on to Me” and “I Don't Know” back on June 20.
“Fuh You” is the only track on Egypt Station produced by Ryan Tedder (U2, Adele). All other songs on the 16-track solo effort were produced by five-time Grammy winner Greg Kurstin.
The ex-Beatle describes the new single as “a raunchy love song.” The lyric video employs artwork inspired by a 1999 McCartney painting titled “Egypt Station” as Sir Paul sings, “Come on baby now/Let me look at you/Talking about yourself/Try to tell the truth.”
"We (McCartney and Tedder) were just thinking of ideas and little pieces of melody and chords and the song just came together bit by bit,” writes McCartney about the song's creation in a press release. “And then I would try and make some kind of sense of the story.”
Egypt Station is available for preorder here in standard and deluxe editions in CD, digital, vinyl and streaming formats. Check out the lyric video for “Fuh You” above.
Macca fans can look forward to catching the 18-time Grammy winner in an upcoming hour-long CBS primetime special. “Carpool Karaoke: When Corden Met McCartney Live From Liverpool” will air on Aug. 20 at 8:00 p.m. local time.
