Watch: PVRIS premiere new haunting video for 'Anyone Else'
Rise Records

The alternative rock band, PVRIS has released the fifth song/video, titled “Anyone Else,” off of their rapidly approaching Rise Records’ sophomore album, All We Know of Heaven, All We Need of Hell, due to drop on Aug. 25. The new album was a reunification with producer Blake Harnage who also produced their 2014 debut album, White Noise. Watch the intriguing video above.

PVRIS (pronounced Paris) is a three-piece band from Lowell, Massachusetts, consisting of Lynn Gunn (lead singer/rhythm guitarist), Brian MacDonald (bass) and Alex Babinski (lead guitar).

Filmed in PVRIS’ signature black and white, “Anyone Else” is set in a nostalgic Victorian atmosphere. Over the past few years, Gunn has developed a growing love for all things Victorian and early 20th-century, feeling the unexplained need to channel the ethereal visual representation reminiscent of those time periods into the almost-five-minute video.

The emotional and impactful video is a study in personal interpretation. Featuring dancer/choreographer Courtney Scarr (who also danced in the video, “What’s Wrong”), who through her fluid, graceful lines, and Pre-Raphaelite look, brought the spirit necessary to bring the song, “Anyone Else” to life. The genius behind Gunn’s cultivated approach is the ability to convey heartfelt emotion in such a way that we can individually interpret and apply it to our differing situations.

According to a press statement, Gunn wrote the verses of “Anyone Else” a year apart, hence presenting two contrasting perspectives. The first verse was written at the beginning of heartbreak, channeling the feeling when you first leave someone yet you feel like a part of you will always belong to them. The second verse was written with a different mindset, mostly reflecting on the toxicity and possessiveness of that same love, leaving the ending ambiguous—who do I belong to... myself or my past lover.

Anyone Else,” along with the four prior song previews, “What’s Wrong” (three million views on Spotify streams and 1.6+ million YouTube views), “Heaven” (4.6 million Spotify streams and 1.7+ million YouTube views), “Winter,” and “Half,” have the dedicated PVRIS’ fan base eagerly anticipating the new LP.  Album pre-orders and instant downloads are available by clicking here
