Watch: SZA and Kendrick Lamar head west for kung-fu adventure in new music video for ‘Doves In The Wind’
SZA/Vevo

The last time fans caught up with SZA in one of her amazing line of music videos, she was off to summer camp with the Top Dawg crew in the visual accompaniment for “Broken Clocks.” This time around, it appears that she’s ditched camp in the woods for a kung-fu adventure in the desert alongside Kendrick Lamar in the brand new video for “Doves In The Wind,” which premiered on Friday morning and can be watched in full above.

The single appeared on SZA’s debut CTRL album when it arrived last summer, and finds new life in the spaghetti western-styled music video, which initially premiered exclusively on Spotify before being shared to YouTube a few hours later on Friday. The video starts out with SZA looking like musical goddess that she is while riding atop a horse as Lamar is seen off in the distance working on his best “Kung-Fu Kenny” moves. Things take an action-packed turn when SZA heads up the mountain, dodging Lamar’s blow-dart attempts, to showcase her own ancient combat abilities in front of the master. A few aerial-based “Crouching Tiger” moves later, SZA finds herself victorious over the confident Lamar, who has been beaten down into the dirt. Sorry Kenny.

The two will certainly look to take their training to the next level by the time the Top Dawg Entertainment North American Championship Tour along with ScHoolboy Q, Jay Rock, Ab-Soul, SiR and Lance Skiiiwalker takes flight starting early next month on May 4 in Vancouver. Following her performances at Coachella recently, SZA is now scheduled to perform at Oakland’s Blurry Vision Festival on May 12, and the newly announced InCuya Music Festival in Cleveland in late August. She's also one of the top-billed performers for day two of New York City's Panorama Music Festival in late July, alongside Janet Jackson and St. Vincent
