Taylor Swift debuted “…Ready For It?” and “Call It What You Want” as the musical guest on SNL on Nov. 11, a day after her critically-acclaimed sixth studio album reputation dropped. The two-song set marked Swift’s first return to the SNL stage since 2015 and marked her first TV performance since she took time out to work on the album. "Girls Trip" actress Tiffany Haddish hosted the show.

Swift embraced reputation's snake theme by singing with a gold snake mic for “Ready For It? ” which she sang first. She brought her signature brand of crimson-lipped swagger as she danced information to the song’s pulsing beat with her backup dancers. She slowed things down for the second song by serving up a stripped back, acoustic version of the album's most recent single, “Call It What You Want.” Accompanied by a cellist, backup singers, and another guitarist, Swift sat on a stool under dim lights and strummed her guitar as she looked into the crowd and sang the romantic track. The snake mic was notably missing from the slow-tempo number. But, the “Gorgeous” singer wore a black sweatshirt with a striped snake on the front that stood out from a backdrop of colorful cosmic images.

Per Billboard, Swift sold 700,000 copies of reputation on the first day (in the U.S. alone), which puts her on track to best her own 1989 record, in which she became the first artist to sell a million copies of three consecutive albums in the first week of sales. If she sells over 1 million copies of reputation in the first week, it will mark her fourth consecutive album to accomplish this feat. If the album tops the Billboard 200 chart (which it is expected to do), it will mark Swift's fifth No. 1 album.

Tour dates to support the album are still TBD. But, Swift will follow up her SNL appearance by headlining Capital’s Jingle Bell Ball at The O2 Arena in London on Dec. 10. She’ll perform there with her friend Ed Sheeran, who is a featured guest artist along with Future on reputation’s catchy, rap-infused second track, “End Game.” Click here to read an AXS review of reputation.
