Brooklyn-based funk and soul outfit Turkuaz recently stopped into the Los Angeles studios of Jam in the Van to record a pair of tunes from their 2018 LP, Life in the City, as well as a choice cover from The Band. As Jambase reported, the colorfully dressed nine-piece put to wax live versions of Life in the City tracks “If I Ever Fall Asleep” and “The One and Lonely.”
Turkuaz also busted out The Band’s “The Shape I’m In” from the legendary group’s 1970 album Stage Fright. You can check out Turkuaz covering “The Shape I’m In” above or scroll down to watch “If I Ever Fall Asleep” and “The One and Lonely.”
Turkuaz’s Life in the City arrived in September of 2018. If follows the group’s 2015 LP Digitarium and 2014’s Future 86. The band also released a live album in 2018 titled 040717. More recently, Turkuaz released the singles “Superstatic” and “Take It Slow” in February 2019.
