A couple of weeks after treating fans to the second part of their Trench trilogy, Twenty One Pilots has returned with series’ final video. On Wednesday, Aug. 8, the Ohio-founded act premiered the music video for their latest single, “Levitate.” Taking to Twitter, the band posted a simple message to fans accompanied by the official link to the new video.

The two-and-a-half-minute clip picks up right after the “Nico and the Niners” video. Frontman Tyler Joseph is finally safe from the red-hooded bishop (Dema) thanks to the rescue efforts of his bandmate Josh Dun and his merry group of yellow and olive green dressed saviors (the Banditos).

Dun and the Bandito crew take Joseph to their dystopia campground where the area is lined with cloth tents, a charred car, and a group of people decked out exactly like the rescue crew. While entering the campgrounds, the viewer watches as Joseph’s welcome consists of the Banditos taping bright yellow tape on his shirt, confirming that he is now a part of them.

Throughout the clip, the viewer also watches as other members of the Bandito crew begin to shave Joseph’s hair. For the musician, this act could be him getting rid of something that kept him connected to his former life as an unwilling member of the Dema.

While the rest of the video features Joseph and Dun performing the song as well as shots of a vulture randomly flying, the video takes an unexpected turn when a dark figure arrives and abducts Joseph right in front of a campfire. Watch the music video for “Levitate” above.

The music video’s release comes a few hours after "Levitate" and an alleged Trench tracklist leaked online. At the time of the leak, fans were quick to speculate that either Joseph or Dun was behind it. As per a fan-run Twitter account, it turns out that Jay-Z’s streaming site, Tidal, reportedly leaked the new song before its intended release. Though the music streaming site was quick to pull the song down, a highly anticipated new tune is not something you can hide from the Skeleton Clique.

“Levitate” will join “Nico and the Niners” and “Jumpsuit” on Twenty One Pilots’ forthcoming album. Trench is due out Oct. 5 through Fueled By Ramen. Trench is the follow-up to the group’s Grammy-winning record, 2015’s Blurryface.

In support of the new album’s fall time release, Twenty One Pilots previously announced plans to hit the road during the final months of 2018 and early months of 2019. The Bandito world tour will begin on Oct. 16 at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville and conclude five months later on March 17, 2019, at the Altice Arena in Lisbon, Portugal.
