Wilco are the latest group to pay their respects to the late Tom Petty. While performing at the Irving Music Factory in Irving, TX Tuesday night, the band played a sweeping cover of the classic Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers song, "The Waiting." Check out the touching rendition above.
Following news of Petty's death late Monday night, an outpouring of musicians have taken to the stage to honor the iconic musicians. Artists such as Coldplay, Imagine Dragons and The National have each performed songs from Petty's exhaustive discography while fellow icons Bob Dylan, Bruce Springsteen, Ringo Starr and Peter Gabriel have reacted with tributes. AXS TV aired the singer's classic film, "Tom Petty: Live from Gatorville," earlier this week.
Wilco continue their fall U.S. tour through next month, playing eight more shows over the next six weeks. Following several stops down south in Memphis, Birmingham and Atlanta, the group will hold a three-show residency at Palace Theatre in St. Paul, MN between Nov. 15 and 17. Frontman Jeff Tweedy will embark on a solo run of shows between December and February.
