Wet return with new single, ‘There’s A Reason,’ North American tour

The atmospheric indie rock outfit known as Wet have returned with the first taste of new music set to appear on their upcoming sophomore album. The trio from Brooklyn is celebrating the release of “There’s A Reason” today in addition to sharing their upcoming North American concert plans, which are scheduled to start on May 15 in Philadelphia and run until June 6 with a final show in Santa Ana, Calif.

The band had been quiet for a minute since releasing their well-received debut album back in 2016. Aside from appearing on a song from Rostam last year, there hadn’t been much of an update from the indie-rock group until Friday morning. Their refreshing “There’s A Reason” can be heard in full in the animated lyric video seen above. The short single is a perfect reintroduction back into the indie-pop world from Wet. The shining vocal work from singer Kelly Zutrau expands on her already deeply emotion-driven singing style, and really inspires the song to take flight alongside its lively drum beat throughout.

"There were a lot of challenges and a lot of changes," Zutrau added in a statement on the band’s return. "There were so many reasons to not make music together anymore, but something compelled us to keep coming back to it. That's what 'There's a Reason' is about.”

The band’s upcoming spring tour should continue to help them build momentum towards their sophomore album release, which is still untitled and without an announced release date. The spring run will see Wet visiting mostly major marketing around the U.S. and Canada before coming to an end near the start of summer, but fans should assume more dates and possible festival appearances will be released.

Tickets for select shows on the upcoming run will be going on sale starting next Friday, March 16, and can be purchased by clicking here.
