The holiday season is festive and bright in New Orleans, LA and the surrounding area. Take the family to enjoy the beautiful holiday light shows for a cheerful and fun-filled evening in 2017.    

Celebration in the Oaks
Nov. 25-Jan. 1 @ 6 p.m.
City Park, 7 Victory Av., New Orleans, LA 70124

The annual Celebration in the Oaks illuminates the 25 acres of City Park, including the Botanical Garden, Storyland, and the Carousel Gardens Amusement Park. The famous oak trees are swathed in twinkling holiday lights and there are light displays throughout the park. Santa Claus will be in the train gazebo every night of the celebration. Purchase tickets in advance to save time. Admission will be $9/person, children under 3 are admitted free.  There will be an added fee for train and amusement rides.

Kenner Christmas Village

Take the family or a leisurely stroll through the Christmas Village, decked out with holiday lights and animated scenery. The lighted village will overlook a tranquil pond, creating a beautiful scene. On Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, Kenner Christmas Village will be especially festive, featuring Santa Claus, holiday entertainment, carolers, and costumed holiday characters.

Miracle on Fulton Street

The dazzling holiday lights and decorations on Fulton Street are enhanced by “snow” fall every hour, for a festive winter display. There will be performances by the Canterbury Carolers, Vince Vance and the Valiants, Tin Men, Benny Grunch and the Bunch, and Tuba Skinny. The LUNA Fete Billie Sphere interactive light display is sensitive to light and responds to light emitting devices

Zoolights at Baton Rouge Zoo

Zoolights is a mile-long illuminated trail that features more than 50 display sculptures of animals and holiday displays. The entire family will be cheered by festive beauty and activities at the zoo over the holidays. Admission is $3-$5. 

Holiday Lights at Baton Rouge General

The Holiday Lights show at Baton Rouge General features a 40-foot mega tree and a free show of Christmas lights that transform the lawn into a twinkling display synchronized with music the whole family can enjoy.

Christmas at Blue Bayou Drive Through Light Show

The family will enjoy the one-mile-long holiday light show, synchronized to music that you can play on your own car radio. Admission is $28/carload.

Christmas in the Park

The beautiful light display in Lafreniere Park features dazzling LED lights and entertaining light displays, such as the 60-oot Sea Serpent, the Teddy Bear Factory, and Snowman Island. Admission is $5/vehicle. Admission will be free on Dec. 24-25. The Children’s Carousel will be open nightly for $1/child.

Shadrack Christmas Wonderland

Take the family for a drive through the Shadrack Christmas Wonderland, where you can see the Christmas lights and displays from the comfort of your car. Admission is $25/Carload.

The Oil Center’s 24th Annual Festival of Lights

The Festival of Lights, powered by LUS and hosted by the Oil Center, will offer a month of holiday lights and entertainment, music, a living nativity, horse-drawn carriage rides, photos with Santa and other characters, carnival games, and more. Admission to the festival is free, but there are fees for food and the activities. You can take the trolley to do some retail shopping while at the Oil Center.
