Compton native YG Hootie is back to pay tribute to the place he grew up in, and he's linked up with one of the city's biggest rappers to honor their stomping grounds. Kendrick Lamar joins YG on "The City," which you can listen to above.

YG kicks the song off with a head-bobbing refrain declaring his importance in Compton. "I get love in the city/ I'm the plug in my city/ I'm the one in my city/ All my real ones with me." He then lays down the first verse, explaining how him and Kendrick are popular figures in the city. "Everything we do is for the city/ Kill the competition no pity/ Me and Kendrick 'bout to run s**t/ We don't say we did s**t 'cause we done s**t."

Kendrick takes the second verse and raps about his love for the city that raised him. "My city never want for nothin'/ My city love it when I'm hustlin'." With his critically acclaimed success, Kendrick still collaborates with underground artists and friends from Compton and he discusses such in "The City." "10 toes down keep it underground / H* we ran it then, now we run it now."

The two rappers previously teamed up on the 2013 song "Two Presidents," which was featured on YG's 2014 mixtape Destroy & Rebuild.

Kendrick will embark on a European leg of his DAMN. tour in early February, making 15 stops across the continent through March. Check out the complete list of tour dates here.
