Youth academies from Portugal and Mexico added for the 2018 LA Galaxy Cup

Two more youth academies have been added to the 2018 LA Galaxy Cup that will be played at the Orange County Great Park from March 28 to April 1 in Irvine, Calif. The teams that have been added are from youth academies associated with FC Porto in Portugal and Tijuana in Mexico. 

FC Porto and Tijuana are two of three international soccer teams that have confirmed for the tournament. The other is from a youth academy associated with Swansea City A.F.C. in Wales. 

This is the first ever L.A. Galaxy Cup. There are four separate tournaments, which have an under-12 and under-19 tournament for both boys and girls, and is being hosted by the LA Galaxy of Major League Soccer. The LA Galaxy will have teams participating from their academies as well. 

FC Porto is the top team in the Primeira Liga at the moment. They have a record of 10 wins and one draw in 11 games. Tijuana is currently in 10th place in the Liga MX standings with a record of six wins, seven losses and three draws. 

The FC Porto Juniors are known as the Juniores in Portugal. The tournament will take place during the Galaxy's 2018 Major League Soccer season. For Galaxy ticket information, please click here.
