U.K. singer-songwriter Zayn Malik already has a new song waiting in the wings following the recently released "Entertainer." According to famed producer Timbaland on May 30, their collaboration is coming very shortly.
"Entertainer" is the latest single by Malik from his second studio album. He's previewed the record with "Dusk Till Dawn" and "Let Me." The three cinematic music videos for those songs are tied together and tell the story of Zayn's adventures with a mysterious briefcase. Malik wrote "Entertainer" with producers Henrique Andrade and Alexandre Bursztyn. Like "Let Me," it's a lighter tune, but with plenty of attitude as Malik calls out a suspicious lover. "Don't you take me for a fool," he sings. "Entertainer" is like Zayn's Rihanna "Take a Bow" moment that deserves a standing ovation once he hits that heavenly falsetto at the end.
"Entertainer" was released on May 23 and Malik apparently more new music on the way. Back in April, Timbaland previewed their collaboration, reportedly titled "Night and Day," on Instagram. In the nearly minute-long clip, Zayn sings "we f**ked in a flashback" over hip-hop beats. In another video this week, Timbaland revealed more details about their track. "The song with Zayn is coming out in like a week and a half," he said before adding, "Maybe two." It will be the first single from Timbaland's new album due out this year.
Zayn's next album, dubbed #Z2 on social media, will also be released later this year. Expect the Timbaland collaboration to arrive sometime this month.
