Zayn Malik premieres cinematic music video for 'Satisfaction'

U.K. singer-songwriter Zayn Malik premiered the music video for "Satisfaction" on Jan. 9. He soundtracks a harrowing scene in the new clip.

"Satisfaction" is one of the songs on Malik's sophomore album Icarus Falls. Previously, the only other tracks from that record to receive the video treatment were "Let Me," "Entertainer" and "Sour Diesel." Zayn wrote "Satisfaction" with James "Malay" Ho, the producer he worked with on 2016's Mind of Mine. Piano and a tribal beat back Malik's emotional and soulful hymn of hope. "I can't get no satisfaction alone," he sings.

The music video for "Satisfaction" was directed by Bouha Kazmi, Malik's collaborator on "Pillowtalk." The cinematic clip opens with a lyric about peace from his song in Urdu, "Intermission: Flower." Zayn appears briefly for a moment before taking a backseat to a love story that unfolds in tragedy. Out of the destruction blooms a flower in the finale.

"Satisfaction" is now available on iTunes and Apple Music alongside the Icarus Falls album. Malik already hinted this year that a tour could be on the way soon.
