Celebrated symphony conductor Zubin Mehta is currently in rehearsals with the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra as they prepare for a specialty concert performance at the Arlington Theatre in Santa Barbara this fall.
The Israel Philharmonic Orchestra has earned international recognition as one of Israel's artistic treasures thanks to their powerful live performances throughout Israel and the world, as well as their commitment to the preservation of arts and culture. The orchestra's members include some of the top solo artists throughout the spectrum of classical musicians. They are also recognized globally, having traveled to perform classical concerts throughout five continents around the world.
The Israel Philharmonic Orchestra will take the stage at the Arlington Theatre in the picturesque beach city of Santa Barbara on Nov. 1. According to sources, Mehta is scheduled to be honored at this performance for his respected commitment to the arts and culture of Israel. The song roster that the orchestra will perform includes Mozart's Symphony No. 36 in C major and Schubert's
Symphony No. 9 in the key of C major. In addition, Mehta will conduct the orchestra in the performance of music from the soundtrack of the film "Footnote," an Academy Award nominee for Best Foreign Film and winner for Best Screenplay at the Cannes Film Festival.
